HOW TO FIX HP PRINTER OFFLINE ISSUE ?

Many times you will notice that your printer fails to print and the printer appears ‘’Offline’’. This is a very common issue, which is faced by many users of the printers. However, this issue can be resolved easily by following simple steps.

How to fix HP printer offline issue?

When the printer appears offline, perform any of the following checks :

1) Check Printer’s USB cable connectivity

It is recommended to check that the USB cable is connected from both ends i.e. to the printer along with the computer. If in case any of the cable ports of computer or printer are not working, then try to use other ports of the device. However, there are chances that the cable is at fault and is not working properly. In such a case, it is advisable to change the USB cable altogether. Besides, do check up if the printer is connected to the power socket or not and is turned on.

2)Manually set up printer online

Click on the ‘’Start’’ icon of your computer screen that is located at the bottom left. Now select the ‘’Control Panel’’. One the dialog box is opened, click on ‘’Devices and Printers’’.

Now in the window of ‘’Devices and Printers’’ you will notice several icons of printers. Now right click on the printer’s icon that is installed on your system device and click on ‘’See what’s printing’’.

From the menu bar that is located at the top, click on the option of ‘’Printer’’ and from the drop-down menu, select ‘’Use Printer Online’’.

3) End all printing tasks

When you click on ‘’See what’s printing’’, you right-click and select ‘’Cancel’’. This will end all the documents that are scheduled for printing.

Now, select ‘’Use Printer Online’’ once again as mentioned above.

In case the printing jobs are not ending, it is recommended to restart the computer and printer.

4) Remove and Re-install Printer

As you go into the ‘’Devices and Printers’’, select the printer and right-click to select ‘’Remove Device’’.

Thereafter, once again, add the Printer by clicking on ‘’Add a Printer’’ in the ‘’Devices and Printers’’ window.

5) Printer Jam

There is a possibility that the papers might have stuck in the printer. In this case, go to ‘’Settings’’ and then select ‘’’Printers’’. Now, right-click on the current printer being used.

Now select the option of ‘’Use Printer Online’’.Now check out if any printing job is in the queue. Then double-clicking the current printer in use will give you the option to ‘’Printer Menu’’. From there click on the option of "Cancel All Documents.".

Try to remove the papers that are jammed in the printer.

Print any document to check if the printer is working properly. If not, then turn off the printer and start again.

Now set the printer online again by performing "Use Printer Online" again.

6) Re-installing the drivers
Go to ‘’Settings’’ and then select ‘’Printers’’. Right-click on the printer to select the option of ‘’Properties’’.

When the dialog box of ‘’Properties’’ opens up, select the ‘’General’’ tab and click the ‘’Driver’’ button. Now once again choose the drivers.

Alternatively, download the drivers once again from the internet.

Now it is suggested to re-install the printer. Go to ‘’Settings’’ and then select ‘’’Printers’’.

Delete the printer from the ‘’Menu’’ bar and re-install the printer by clicking on ‘’Add Printer’’ by using the recently downloaded drivers.
